News from Snehadhara, Odisha.

On 23rd December we had Christmas gathering our tailoring women. They were about 25 of them. It was for the first time such get together was organized. As majority of the non Catholics it was nice to see all came with party dress. We began the gathering with sort prayer and Christmas message by Sr.Sangita. Then we had games which they all enjoyed very much. After the games we had high tea together. And each one was given a small gift. They all enjoyed it very much. This gathering helped us to know each other better.  We felt happy that they came in good number to share in our joy.

This year for us the Christmas was very special as we had invited the family of Sushmita our cook, to have lunch with us. Together with this we also celebrated her birthday.

 

 

 

On 28th we celebrated the innocents’ day with the children of our neighborhood. Many children came of the gathering. We had games with them after the games many of them danced. Then they were given gifts and snacks. They enjoyed the evening with us.

 

Women’s day out:- Tailoring women had day of outing to Khandahadhar which has beautiful water fall and surrounded with mountains and trees. Women were happy to be out for day from all their work.Many were happy as they never got chance to go out for a outing.

They had lovely time calming the mountains to see the waterfall.

They enjoyed the day with lots of fun dance music and games.

 

On 23rd January we celebrated the day of St. Raphaela’s day of canonization and 50 years of our presence in India, with the people of our zone. There were many women; children and few men were present for the mass. Fr. Gemrik Toppo, Deepti church in charge celebrated the Eucharist. The mass began with entrance dance and Bible procession by our hostel students. During homely Father spoke about life of St. Raphaela and her thoughts which were very inspiring for the people and now they know something about Raphaela Mary. After the mass we had fellowship meal with the people. They were very happy to be part of this day.
