St. Raphaela Mary Convent – Vypin Community
In the year 2002 the parish priest of Manattuparambu – Vypin expressed the need for a Congregation to help in the pastoral needs of the Parish which is a pilgrim centre devoted to the sacred heart of Jesus where thousands of people visit to pray and 4 masses and novenas are conducted on every Friday.
In the year 2007 we moved in to the next rented house before we bought a permanent house of our own and blessed it on 31st May 2007.
With the desire of making St. Raphaela Mary known to the people we named our convent, play school and the social centre after her name.
The various Apostolates here are :
- Play School
- Social Centre- Tailoring classes, Yoga classes , Income generation programme for women
- Networking with ESS (Diocesan Social Service centre)
- Pastoral Activities – Catechism classes, working with the Youth, working in the Basic Christian Communities
- Family Apostolate : Visiting the families, family Counseling
- ACI Family
- Working with the migrants
