“SNEHAVARDHINI” Convent –   which means “A Stream of Love”

Between the Sahyadri range of the western Ghats and  in the north Konkan region of Maharashtra, lies Roha ,130 km away from Mumbai. In 1989 we the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus came to Raigad District . The inspiration to open a house in Roha was in response to the expressed need for the Church’s official presence in this area. It resonated with our mission as Our Foundress St. Raphaela Mary had the desire of spreading the God’s message of love to every corner of the world and to reach out the poorest of the poor. Here we work for the upliftment of the Tribal people who are staying on mountains away from the society.
