At St Thomas Garnet’s we celebrated Advent and Christmas in a wide variety of ways:

We started in early December with our annual Christmas card competition. The winning cards were sent to people and organisations in our local community

This year we celebrated our Advent Mass as a school, and Year 3 & 4 also joined with St Peter’s School for their Mass at Corpus Christi Church.  

Each class during their mindfulness prayer time received a message for preparing to welcome the child Jesus in their interaction with their friends and friends.

Year 6 children took part in the Primary School annual Carol Concert at the Bournemouth Pavilion.We put up bright and thoughtful displays around the school, which helps us, reflect on the true meaning of Christmas’.

The younger children in Pre-school and Key stage 1  joined together to perform ‘The Nativity’ while the older children in years 3 – 6 celebrated the Christmas story through poetry, song& readings, in a candlelight service at Corpus Christi church.

 

Year 6 joined many other schools and the Salvation Army, at the Bournemouth Football Club ground, for a Charity Carol Service.

…and just for fun, we finish with a carol concert for the children & parents in the school hall.
