News from Orissa

23rd January 2015 was a day of great joy for us Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in India as our two Novices Sunita Toppo and Sushmita Kullu made their First Profession at Snehadhara Community in Odisha. We were lucky to have Rt. Rev. Kishore Kumar Kujur, Bishop of Raurkela as the main celebrant of the Eucharistic celebration along with eight other Priests. There were Sisters and Brothers from other Religious Communities, families of Sunita and Sushmitha and a few people from the vicinity to witness this beautiful event of Offering and Thanksgiving to God the Almighty. Melodious singing of our students, sisters and brothers added beauty to our celebration. We Snehadhara community were blessed to have the profession because they are our first fruits of our vocation work and it is quite delighting as this year marks the 10 years of our presence in Rourkela. We also inaugurated the year of consecrated life with this celebration.
