We, the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus are a Catholic International Religious Congregation for women, originated in Spain. Founded by St. Raphaela Mary Porras, today the institute renders its services in 24 countries in the field of formal and non-formal education, universities, special education for children with disabilities, residences for girls, working with immigrants, refugees and tribals, human and community development work, pastoral services and medical assistance. St. Raphaela Mary Porras wanted her followers to not be contented with “tens of thousands but with millions and millions, for all are children of God our Father”. The Handmaids make her desire a reality today by committing themselves to “Education in the service of Gospel”.
